Dilani Patel – PhD Student in Entomology

B.S. in Biology with a minor in Environmental Science, University of Alabama

Research Description: My current research projects are focused on the population dynamics and biological control of brown marmorated stink bugs (Halyomorpha halys Stål) in various crop commodities in Georgia. My works focuses on environmental, biological, and farming-management factors affecting population abundance and management of these stink bugs in conventional and organic systems.

Albertha Parkins – PhD Student in Entomology

M.S in Agricultural Science Entomology, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
B.S in Agricultural Education, College of Agriculture, Science and Education, JA

Research Description: My current research project is focused on the reproductive biology and nutritional biology of spotted-wing drosophila (SWD) overwintering population in Georgia. Trying to determine non-crop hosts of SWD during winter season and their reproductive status during winter months.

Subin Neupane – PhD Student in Entomology

M.S. in Entomology, Texas A&M University
B.S. in Agriculture, IAAS, Tribhuvan University, Nepal

Research Description: I am currently looking at the ecology and population dynamics of the spotted-wing drosophila (SWD) including its interactions with resident and exotic parasitoids. My work will focus on identification and systematic evaluations of the biology and efficiency of these parasitoids that can be used for the management of SWD at the landscape level.
