Fly

Located just 15 miles from Savannah’s Historic Meeting District, the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport offers approximately 90 daily flights in and out of Savannah. Scheduled airlines include Delta, United, US Airways, American, JetBlue.

Once you arrive at the airport, you will need to secure transportation to the hotel. Arrangement for pick up must be made prior to your arrival. Rates are set by individual providers. Visit the airport website for more information.

Drive

Getting to Savannah by car is easy and enjoyable, with plenty of scenic Georgia beauty to take in along the way. Savannah is best accessed via Interstate 95 (North/South) or Interstate 16 (East/West).

Trolley Tours

Savannah offers a variety of Trolley Tours. One of the best ways to learn about the Downtown Historic District’s history is to take one of the many Trolley Tours available. Most Trolley Tours offer the on/off pass, so you are able to explore the city on your own and get back on the trolley as you please!

Horse Drawn Carriage Tours

Taking a Horse Drawn Carriage Tour through Downtown Savannah can be both informative and romantic. Learn about the city as you are taken through the various squares and streets. Bring the whole family or just the two of you, and see Savannah at her very best!

Chatham Area Transit (CAT)

CAT offers 19 fixed bus routes in Savannah and Chatham County. Fare for local one-way service is $1.50 and discounted weekly and monthly passes are available.

The DOT Shuttle, which transports passengers in the Historic District, provides free and convenient service from the Transit Center to many downtown hotels and the Savannah Visitor Information Center, many historic sites and local restaurants.

The Liberty St. Parking Shuttle provides free weekday service throughout downtown to various parking facilities and offers the same safe, free service late-nights on Friday and Saturday.

CAT also offers the 100X Airport Express for direct service from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, as well as bike sharing. Catch a CAT!

DOT

The DOT is a fare-free service of Savannah Mobility Management System, a public-private partnership created to help visitors and residents get around downtown. Included in the system are 30-passenger shuttles serving 12 stops in the Historic District; a 54-passenger authentic 1930s streetcar with six stops along River Street; and the Savannah Belles Ferry (see below).

EXPRESS SHUTTLE:

  • Monday-Saturday 7 a.m.-9 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • 20 minutes or less wait between shuttles
  • Serving 12 stops around the Historic District
  • Connecting to municipal parking facilities, Visitor Centers, Streetcar and Ferry
  • Fully ADA-Accessible

RIVER STREET STREETCAR:

  • Thursday-Sunday: Noon – 9 p.m.
  • Authentic 1930s Melbourne, 54-passenger streetcar updated with environmentally-friendly green technology
  • Six stops along Historic River Street between Montgomery Street and the Waving Girl Landing
  • Fully ADA-Accessible

SAVANNAH BELLES FERRY:

  • Operating 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to Midnight
  • Modern passenger-only ferries, reminiscent of vessels seen in the harbor a century ago
  • Named for Savannah’s “Belles”— strong women who shaped the city’s history
  • Connecting downtown with Hutchinson Island and the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center
  • From the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center Landing (on Hutchinson Island adjacent to the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa) to City Hall Landing (below City Hall adjacent to Hyatt Regency Savannah Hotel) and the Waving Girl Landing (in Morrell Park adjacent to the Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel).
