We are proud to recognize Layla Burrell, an Emerging Scholar from Florida A&M University, for successfully presenting her research poster titled “Podoplanin Regulates the Development of Taste Papillae and Taste Buds in a Stage- and Genetic Background-Specific Manner.” During her 7-week Emerging Scholars Internship in the Liu Lab, Layla made valuable contributions to our ongoing research investigating the role of podoplanin in the development of gustatory organs. Layla is expected to graduate with her undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University in December 2026. We congratulate her on this accomplishment and wish her continued success in her future academic and scientific endeavors..
