Every year Food Science Club organizes community service and volunteering opportunities where students and members can come together and give back to the community.

UGArden
The mission of UGArden is to build a community of students centered on a sustainable food system. The goals of UGArden are to teach students to grow food using organic practices through experiential learning, to share healthy, sustainably grown food with members of the local community who are facing food insecurity, to provide an opportunity for engagement, service and experimentation, and to foster an entrepreneurial spirit.

UGA Campus Kitchen
The Campus Kitchen at UGA is the student-powered hunger relief program of the UGA Office of Service-Learning. We exist to spotlight sustainable solutions to hunger and food waste and to showcase a mutually beneficial university-community partnership.

The Food Bank-Northeast Georgia, an initiative by Feeding America, has designed specific programs to help those people who are most vulnerable to the threat of hunger, serving children, seniors, and the disabled.
