Hi CAES Alums!
I am Jaky Cervantes Childers, a UGA CAES graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education as well as a former Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Advisor, and I am passionate about the future of agriculture and recruiting the next generation of CAES students.
Are you going to see a high school student or current college student that might be interested in attending UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (UGA CAES)?
Here are some fast facts or tips:
- CAES’ small class sizes allow students to get one-on-one attention from world-renowned faculty. Outside of the classroom, our Deans’ Promise ensures every student has the opportunity to become involved in research, studying abroad, internships and jobs, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
- CAES has a high percentage of students accepted to graduate and professional schools such as medical, law, veterinary, dental, optometry, physician assistant, and physical therapy. Because of CAES’ approach to hands-on learning, students aren’t just sitting in classrooms – they are learning by doing.
- Students have the opportunity for additional financial support through college specific scholarships. CAES awards over $830,000 to undergraduate students in scholarships each year and 70 percent of undergraduate students who apply for CAES scholarships receive an award. Prospective students interested in CAES majors can apply for scholarships prior to UGA acceptance.
