Encapsulated Tanshinone IIA leads to reduced tissue injury and functional deficits post-stroke

For the first time, this study highlights the therapeutic efficacy of Tanshinone-IIA when encapsulated into nanoparticles. Specifically, Tanshinone IIA loaded nanoparticles demonstrate antioxidative capabilities in neural stem cell cultures; reduce lesion volume, midline shift, and white matter damage post-stroke; and improve spatiotemporal and kinetic gait parameters.
