HELP! I am sitting at the gate with nerves that could last a lifetime. I was never really nervous until my dad was dropping me off at the airport this morning while on his way to work. Why am I so scared? I have been to the Dominican Republic before, so why am I freaking out so bad? I have no idea. Maybe it’s because I will be on my first plane ride longer than 3 hours. Maybe it’s because I can barely speak a lick of Italian. Maybe it’s because I was trying to come up with the money for my trip until the very last minute. Maybe it’s because I forgot my Cortona Shirt in Athens, and I’m very superstitious and that means that my trip is already off to a bad start. Maybe it’s because I am scared of what they will think of us “dirty Americans” I’m not sure, but sitting in this airport for 3 more hours is not going to help me figure it out! I am excited for the journey I am about to embark on, but with any journey, I know I will encounter speed bumps. So, to whoever is reading this, won’t you join me for the ride? Also I would like to mention that this is my first blog post ever…so yeah. I hope I did this right? I want to be in Italy already!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
