If you know anything about me, you probably know that I\u2019m a big planner. All of my lesson plans, school calendars, homework assignments, and even journals are color-coded and well organized. So today we found out that we aren\u2019t able to see the school \u00a0before we teach, so walking into this place tomorrow makes me a little nervous. I just know I\u2019m going to have to take a minute before we get started and mentally run through my checklist. I think it will be great though, my group has been super flexible and put a lot of work into this and I think we know what we\u2019re doing. Overall, today has been a really amazing day though. We got to see a real life castle! After exploring a castle, we had to go on a tour of the college of ag outside of Dumfries. It was really amazing to be able to observe and listen to passionate people talk about what they do. They all talked a lot about transferable skills and helping students make connections to every day life as well as other classes that they\u2019re taking. It\u2019s really neat to hear people in other countries talk about this, because this is something that I strive to implement into my classroom one day and to see it so evident here in Scotland really inspires me. Here in the college of ag, they put so much value on hands-on activities, more than I have seen in many classrooms. Most of the projects here or student run and operated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Here are some of the interesting things that I heard today that I wrote down and I think important to be reiterated<\/p>\n

\u201cagriculture is everywhere\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c we should always focus on the student\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dYou have to learn yourself before you can teach others\u201c<\/p>\n

Overall today, I think our group was able to really bond and the Scottish students have been able to fit right in. The U of G students are making us feel right at home. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
