My experience in Spain changed who I am as a person for the better in so many ways. When I landed in Spain, I remember being terrified and wanting to turn around and fly back to the states. I was really nervous to be on a different continent without anyone I knew and to be moving into a home with a  family that spoke a language that I could kind of speak. Instead, I got up and walked off the plane to begin the best adventure of my life. I will never forget the feeling of uncertainty upon arrival and especially the feeling of triumph that followed my first few days getting to know a culture different than my own. After exploring and getting to know the city, the once daunting streets became my neighborhood. I began to speak the language without having to pause and double-check in my mind that what I was saying was correct. I formed relationships with my coworkers and host family members and even friendships with people I met on the street. I will never forget the feeling of satisfaction and a sense of pride in myself.  That feeling will be a takeaway here forward in my life as I take on unfamiliar challenges.<\/p>\n
