I wrote the wrong date for when we departed for France it was actually May 10. We had our first day of class on may 13. We had a tour of Toulouse during the weekend of our arrival. We saw a variety of things such as cathedrals, medieval houses, paintings, and even the place where a previous duke was beheaded. Toulouse has been ruled by the romans, the spanish, and the french in it&#8217;s past. The city has two canals originally built to prevent having to pay\u00a0Spanish\u00a0taxes when shipping goods around the Iberian\u00a0Peninsula. Many people in toulouse were rich due to the selling of a blue dye grown in the area and eventually wine.
