The stop I researched was our Vidalia Onion stop. Growing up in Georgia, I have always known about the wonders of Vidalia Onions but never knew the history behind it. During this project, I learned that a farmer in the Great Depression discovered this sweet crop and it became very profitable. This area of Georgia celebrates the onion every year with festivals and a famed mascot, Yumion.
