While in Scotland, I couldn’t help but think about the grandeur of history. The main part of the trip was teaching at Troqueer Primary, however, there were several days where we were able to tour. History has forever been one of my favorite subjects to learn about, and this trip amplified that to a new level. At times, we were standing in the same spots as historic kings and queens, prisoners, traitors, and battles. In the photo I attached to this, I am standing within the walls of Edinburgh Castle near the Crown Jewels of Scotland. This castle has been around for nearly a millennia and used by the royal family for several hundred years. We even learned that many Americans were kept here during the Revolutionary War because they were seen as rebels and traitors. I hope that, should I be able to return, I can tour even more of this amazing country.
