Here I am, 4 days from my trip to Cortona, in the midst of final exams, and I am frozen. Time keeps moving, but somehow all I can do is sit here and pray that I don’t forget something important. This semester has been a whirlwind and this summer will be as well. I will take my last final on Tuesday the 10th, and I board a plane to Rome on the 11th. Then, I am lucky enough to get to spend one month in Italy studying grapes and winemaking, all while enjoying the art, history, and culture of a beautiful Italian town. Although I am overwhelmed, I am also ecstatic for what this month holds.

I snap out of my trance and see that the steam coming up from my coffee has now ceased and there are water droplets formed on the inside edge of the paper cup in front of me. When I look around, I realize that quite some time has passed and the light filling the room is no longer from the window but instead from a floor lamp in the corner of this cozy shop. It is crazy how every hour that passes is one closer to when my feet will land on Italian soil. I can only imagine what I will experience this month, but there is no use sitting here any longer. I guess that is all for now. See you in Italy. Ciao!
