I hadn’t been able to get excited about the trip just yet. I have had so much work to complete beforehand between my research and my classes. My luggage is half packed though. So I have that going for me. This isn’t my first study abroad experience; I stayed in Vienna, Austria  for four months, so my family isn’t worried about me being out of the country. I don’t have any fears associated with traveling to Costa Rica other than I don’t speak the language and I might not me able to communicate effectively. I can greet people and ask where is  the bathroom. Why am I interested in Costa Rica? As food science major, this trip will give me an opportunity to experience coffee production firsthand. I am always interested in how things are made and experiencing different cultures. This journey will provide that and more.
