I had a really great time on the trip. I cant believe the trip went by so fast. I would definitely recommend this trip to someone who is considering going next year. If you do not like lots of meat or cows however, this may not be the trip for you. We saw a lot of high quality, grass fed beef cows of various breeds and weight on large, medium, and small scale cattle operations. We also had several great meals at different restaurants or individuals’ homes. One of the most interesting things I noticed in Uruguay is how they rotate their crops, for instance, a given field on a 6 year rotation will be planted in soybeans for back to back for two years and then left in grazing pasture for cows about four years and then back to two consecutive years of soybeans to restart the cycle. They also might add in an extra year, between planting the land for a pasture and planting soybeans, for planting rice.
