Welcome to the Srinivasan Lab!<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Srinivasan Lab conducts basic and applied research on important plant viruses transmitted by thrips, whiteflies, and aphids that affect crops in Georgia and in the southeastern United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our goal is to understand these viral pathosystems at micro and macro levels. Using behavioral, biochemical, serological, and molecular approaches, we study the process of virus transmission by vectors, component (vector-virus-host plant) interactions, and the factors that affect these interactions. Our research also aims to understand the various factors that influence the ecology and epidemiology of insect-transmitted viruses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
