One thing I learned about the Ag aircraft industry is the fact that several times they actually ferry the planes to the locations. I would have never guessed that they actually flew the planes to the buyer. One of the most surprising things that I took away from the visit to Thrush Aircraft is how similar the process between different manufacturing industries are. For example I had the opportunity to tour a pant making factory several months ago and the set up and process are almost identical. Substitute the sheet metal for cloth and the flow of how the planes/pants take shape are very similar. It was very cool to see how they took something so flat and thin and turned it into a plane that is used for so many different things, firefighting, crop dusting, fuel transport, and so many other things.
