I am a researcher on the Griffin campus and do not have access to electronic journals. How can I obtain access to a journal I need?

If you are a USDA or any other researcher working on the Griffin campus in partnership with UGA you do have access to all of the GALILEO databases and online electronic resources including access to online journals. If you are unable to access any of these resources, contact the library and you will be provided with a password. Once you have the password you can access online journals and other electronic resources.

I am a professional researcher at the Griffin campus. What if I don’t want to spend a lot of time looking up journal articles? Do I have to go through all those steps?

No. Just copy and paste a list of the citations for which you would like to obtain pdf’s and send the list to the library. We will email you the pdf’s.

I am an alumnus of UGA and live in Griffin. Since I have to work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can’t be there during the day, can I obtain access to the library after 5:00 p.m.?

The library is open to all UGA students and employees and the general public Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Access to the library outside of those hours is provided to current UGA students and employees only.

I am a UGA faculty member. Can I send an assistant to the library to pick up books on my behalf?

Fill out this proxy authorization form providing your consent to allow another individual to check out books on your behalf. Send the completed form to the library. Materials will not be checked out to assistants without prior authorization.

The library encourages all faculty on the Griffin campus to submit requests for online database searches to the librarian. The librarian typically performs many extensive, in-depth literature searches each month for faculty members free of charge.
