Katie Sanders delivers results of the CDC High Obesity Program, Healthier Together Stewart, to residents of Stewart County.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

On March 17th, 2022, Katie Sanders<\/a> and Alexa Lamm<\/a> traveled to Stewart County, Georgia to deliver the results of the UGA ALEC Evaluation team’s report for the 2020-2021 year. Sanders presented a discussion of the successes of the project as reported by members of the Healthier Together Stewart Coalition during listening sessions in 2021. Sanders and Lamm then conducted a visioning session, where community members explained what they wished to see come from the project in its fourth year (2022-2023). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, coalition members reported successful work days in the Richland Garden, new garden signage implemented, and increase physical activity in the community as a result of walking signage placed in the county, describing the walking distances between every day community destinations. The evaluation described here is part of Sanders and Lamm’s work with Healthier Together Georgia across five rural counties in the state. Click here<\/a> for more information about this project. Healthier Together Georgia is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in partnership with UGA’s College of Public Health, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and Cooperative Extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
