Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Michael is a doctoral student in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia, Athens. Before joining the Lamm Lab, Michael recently earned a Master of Natural Resources (2024-2025) from the School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia, supported by teaching and research assistantships. Additionally, he received funding from ITC Excellence and Holland Scholarships to obtain a Master of Science in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, specialising in Natural Resource Management at the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, in 2023. Furthermore, he earned a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana in 2020. Michael is a dedicated researcher with over five years of experience, including human research data collection, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, geospatial analysis, research instrument design, manuscript development, conference presentations, outreach activities, and organising stakeholder engagement meetings. He has worked on agricultural issues with cash crop and food crop farmers and extension agents in Ghana’s forest landscape and drylands. He also contributes his diverse teaching and research experience to the ALEC department, supporting students\u2019 learning, advancing research initiatives, and strengthening outreach efforts.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Michael is interested in how agricultural communicators can leverage science communication frameworks and tools to influence farmers\u2019 decision-making regarding innovations, technologies, agricultural issues, and sustainable farming practices; policymakers\u2019 agricultural policy decisions; and extension agents’ outreach efforts in the U.S. and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
