Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dennis Baffour-Awuah is a doctoral student in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. Dennis is a passionate science communicator with over a decade of experience in broadcast journalism. Dennis also brings experience in agricultural extension and has served as a university course tutor and laboratory demonstrator, contributing to academic learning and engagement. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MPhil in Nuclear Agriculture, majoring in Mutation Breeding and Plant Biotechnology from the University of Ghana. He is an Alliance for Science Fellow (2018), an editor and a former fellow of Plantae, a science communication platform of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB). Outside of academia, Dennis enjoys creative writing and DJing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dennis\u2019 research interests include examining how communication frameworks shape public perceptions of food systems and agricultural innovations. He is also interested in investigating the use of artistic tools in science communication to enhance public interest and understanding of complex scientific subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dennis is currently working on research projects exploring the role of music in science communication and exploring integrated pest management (IPM) adoption strategies for eastern tree fruit growers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
