She successfully defended her dissertation titled &#8220;Genome-wide Bacterial Response to Plant Innate Immunity&#8221; on December 13th. The Kvitko lab had a socially distant celebration at The Southern Brewing Company to congratulate Amelia on her accomplishments. Amelia has accepted a post doc position with Dr. Wenbo Ma at The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich, UK. I came into the lab with very little experience working with bacteria and Brian was very patient during my training. Through his mentorship, I was able to pass down my knowledge to the new members of the lab. I have learned so much and gained a lot of great research experience in the lab. I hope to utilize the skills I gained in my next position at The Sainsbury Laboratory.
