{"id":104,"date":"2016-10-27T09:37:53","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T13:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/kvitkolab\/?p=104"},"modified":"2016-10-27T09:37:53","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T13:37:53","slug":"sapps-participates-in-aids-athens-walk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/kvitkolab\/2016\/10\/sapps-participates-in-aids-athens-walk\/","title":{"rendered":"SAPPs Participates in AIDS Athens Walk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Society of Aspiring Plant Pathologists (SAPPs) of the Plant Pathology Dept. at UGA participated in the Athens AIDS Walk on October 8th 2016. \u00a0This graduate event was organized and coordinated by our very own Donald Gillis, the Social Chair of SAPPs. \u00a0Our group raised over $600 to this cause, with a total of $24,000 raised overall by all groups. \u00a0The Athens AIDS Walk is a 3 mile walk to raise money for AIDS research and to bring awareness to the discrimination that still affects those with the AIDS. \u00a0The SAPPs team ranked 4th in the most money raised by a group.
