Job Duties
Responsible for managing the 4-H and Youth Development program in assigned county(ies) by providing educational programming opportunities for youth in 4-H club meetings, coordinating local activities, and preparing youth for project and judging events utilizing multiple teaching methods:Develops a plan of work that is equitable in meeting the needs of the county’s varied socio-economic population
Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with other staff members based on critical issues
Collaborates with other agencies and community groups to plan and implement programs
Conducts promotional efforts to expand the public’s view of extension programming
Utilizes the expertise of and works closely with advisory groups, community leaders, public officials, and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs, and assist in developing educational programs
Utilizes current research data and information on emerging issues in program development and teaching
Maintains program records, reports impact, and creates annual programmatic goals into Georgia Counts in a timely manner.
Participates in professional development, in-service training, professional organizations, and other development opportunities. Maintains a professional image.
Demonstrates personal interest and involvement in the community by participating in and supporting civic/community activities/organizations and networking with community leaders.

4-H programming will include working with teachers, principals, and other BOE members to set up and conduct in-school and/or after-school 4-H meetings. Create and offer 4-H activities and events for youth in after-school, evenings, and weekend settings at different locations around the county. Promote out-of-county activities throughout the year including weekend retreats and summer camp.
In creating a successful 4-H program, this person will be responsible for recruiting and managing volunteer leaders to conduct 4-H specialty clubs, competitive teams, events, and activities. Organizing and conducting fundraising activities is also a necessity for a successful program.
Job Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human/Youth Development, Sociology, Education, Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, Recreation, or related area.
A Bachelor’s degree is acceptable for a Public Service Provisional Faculty appointment
