His research combines genomics, genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology to understand pathogen virulence and deploy host resistance, working closely with breeders and growers. As principal investigator on multiple potato-focused projects, he leads efforts to evaluate resistance in new potato varieties and to develop integrated management strategies for fungal and bacterial pathogens in irrigated systems.
