Greg Colson is a Professor and Department Head of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Department at the University of Georgia. He also serves as the Director of the UGA Center for Agribusiness and Economic Development. He has an undergraduate degree, double majoring in economics and mathematics, from the University of Virginia, and an MS and PhD in economics from Iowa State University. His research program focuses on utilizing economic surveys and experiments to understand behavioral dimensions of consumer and producer decision-making, such as crop insurance, food purchases, risk management, and technology adoption. At the University of Georgia, he teaches courses on microeconomic theory at the undergraduate and graduate levels, experimental economics, and teaching pedagogy. He was the 2020 recipient of the D.W. Brooks Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, awarded by the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
