Anuj Sharma’s research involves identification, characterization, and cloning of genes and genetic elements in tomato, its wild relatives, and other solanaceous crops. Currently, the major focus is to identify resistance genes against economically important diseases of tomato and bell pepper, such as bacterial spot. His lab specializes in comparative genomics and genetic engineering for mapping and validation of recessive resistances.
