The Environmental Compliance Technician will evaluate, analyze and direct environmental compliance activities and actions at Waste Eliminator’s (WE) sites in Georgia and South Carolina. The Environmental Compliance Technician will develop, maintain, and execute a routine auditing program for all WE’s sites, including, but not limited to, Landfills (C&D, Inert), Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), Recovered Material Processing Facilities (RMPFs), Transfer Stations, and Compost Facilities. The Environmental Compliance Technician will maintain all required documentation relating to audits, permits, and regulatory correspondences for WE.

Job Duties
• Coordinate environmental compliance activities and actions with WE’s Director of Environmental Compliance, Consulting Engineers and Environmental Scientists.
• Develop, maintain, and execute a routine auditing program for all WE’s sites in Georgia and South Carolina, including, but not limited to, Landfills, MRFs, RMPFs, Transfer Stations, and Compost Facilities.
o The audit program will include evaluation of site compliance related to Solid Waste Handling Permits (SWHP), Design and Operation Plans (D&O), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC).
• Ensure all records (SWHPs, SWPPPs, SPCCs, etc.) are updated and are readily available to regulators when necessary.
• Support Department Supervisors and Managers during regulatory site visits, ensuring clear and transparent communication of information pertaining to site visits and any potential actions required.
• Assist and, when necessary, direct corrective actions and activities on-site with WE personnel.
• Assist Sustainable Solutions Analyst with customer-based decision-making processes pertaining to new or potential materials, ensuring compliance with SWHPs for the designated facility.
• Maintain and develop professional and technical knowledge by obtaining professional licenses and certifications, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, agricultural science, environmental policy, or other science-based degree programs.
• Understanding of Rules, Regulations, and Acts pertaining to stormwater management plans, spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans, solid waste handling permits, and Class 4 composting facilities.
• Proficient at clear and concise writing, developing presentations and delivering presentations to broad audiences, including regulatory officials and executives.
• Passion for WE’s vision of protecting human health and the environment at all facilities.
• Working in team settings to accomplish goals and objectives prioritized by WE.
• MS Office experience.
