Under general supervision, performs varied manual work in the maintenance and care of the City’s Trees for the Public Services Department. Work involves planting, cutting, trimming trees; ensures safety and health of the trees throughout the city parks and streets and city facilities.

Job Duties
Under general supervision, performs varied manual work in the maintenance and care of the City’s Trees for the Public Services Department. Work involves planting, cutting, and trimming trees; ensures safety and health of the trees; performs soil fracturing and root feeding through the use of the AT-RS 2500 De-compaction/Feed System, and utilizes an Air-Spade for root collar excavations. Performs all functions of the integrated pest management program, scheduling, inspections, maintaining records in our Tree Plotter software, maintains soil moisture levels in all newly planted trees. Reports to the Superintendent of Property Maintenance.
Job Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture/ Arboriculture, Arborist’s certification, and a Category 3 Pesticide Applicator License supplemented by four to five years of general maintenance or landscaping experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. If pesticide license or Arborist certification aren’t current than one must obtain them within 6 months of employment. Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
