For 30 years, Camp Twin Lakes (CTL) has provided life-changing camp experiences to thousands of children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. CTL provides week-long summer camps and year-round weekend retreats at three fully accessible and medically supportive facilities. CTL collaborates with over 60 different nonprofit organizations, each serving a different camper population, to create customized programs that teach campers to overcome obstacles and grow in their confidence and capabilities. Baldwin Farm at CTL provides farm-based educational programming for our campers and produces fruit, vegetables, and eggs for use in programming and in the dining halls. Summary:
The Garden Coordinator’s responsibilities include managing all aspects of fruit and vegetable production, utilizing our program garden space and up to 4 acres of other garden space to produce food for our dining halls. The Garden Coordinator will work closely with the farm manager, food service coordinator, and chefs to set and achieve production goals. They are responsible for the entirety of fruit and vegetable production, from planning, placing plant/seed/fertilizer orders, through to harvest, food safe post-harvest practices and delivery to our kitchens.

Job Duties
Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Plan and execute all aspects of fruit and vegetable production
• Manage greenhouse and transplant production
• Tend garden by preparing the soil, planting crops, running irrigation, maintaining garden space, harvesting produce and storing harvest according to proper food safety measures
• Coordinate with farm manager, food service coordinator, and chefs for utilization of produce, project planning, and implementation
• Practice soil regeneration through cover cropping, composting, and yearly soil testing
• Keep records and data on garden related topics
• Work 1 or 2 weekends each month
• Assist with animal care and leading educational farm sessions with campers as needed
• Manage a garden assistant and help lead the team of summer farm hands and program staff as needed
• Uphold professional relationships with camp staff, partner staff and campers
• Keep gardens, barns and workstations neat and organized
Job Qualifications
Requirements:
• Two or more seasons working on a vegetable production farm, preferably in the Southeast
• Flexible, hardworking, self-motivated individual able to work with others to accomplish collective and individual goals
• Able to work independently and on a team to achieve goals of overall farm and camp community
• Physically able to bend, crouch, walk on uneven surfaces, lift and carry 50 lbs., and work outside in all weather conditions
Preferred Experience:
• One or more seasons managing a production vegetable operation
• Farm crew management experience
• Experience with any of the following:
o Work with children and teenagers in camp settings
o Hydroponics
o Mushroom cultivation
o Fruit orchard management
o Agricultural education
