Dr. John Ruter Sparks Cooperative Project with U.S. National Arboretum

Faculty from the UGA Department of Horticulture collaborate and visit with colleagues around the globe, yet we are especially proud of our previous students that have gone on to successful careers in both industry and academia. Last week, Dr. John Ruter had the opportunity to visit with Dr. Richard Olsen, Director of the US National Arboretum and UGA Alumni.
Trips like this aren’t only a great time to tour gardens, but also to discuss research and plant conservation projects. On this visit, Dr. Ruter and Dr. Olsen cooked up some great ornamental plant breeding project ideas, which remain top secret.
