For more information or to submit your entry, <a href=\"mailto:lames@uga.edu\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:lames@uga.edu\">email Lisa Ames<\/a>. <strong>Deadline for submission is March 8, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Categories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Portrait <\/strong>&#8211; close-up photo of a living insect<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Biology <\/strong>&#8211; photo that \u2018tells a story\u2019 of how insects live and\/or die<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sequence <\/strong>&#8211; 3-5 photos describing insect biology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Microscopic <\/strong>&#8211; photo of living insect, non-living insect or insect material<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NOTE: Four photos will be chosen from the total pool of photos to appear on the cover of the Journal of Entomological Science. Photos need not win a category to be chosen for a cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital Image Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital images submitted for cover photos must be saved and submitted as TIF files or high quality JPEG files. For cover consideration, photos should be at least 1 MB in file size (preferably larger\u2014the more detailed the better), but still feature the insect prominently without an abundance of extraneous background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only photographs with a horizontal format will be accepted (this limitation is based on the format for the journal cover).
