Walter Willett, a\u00a0Harvard professor of nutrition and epidemiology,\u00a0demonstrated through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eatforum.org\/eat-lancet-commission\/\">EAT-Lancet Report<\/a> that peanuts can be an important component of a healthy diet.<\/p>\n<p>Willett\u2019s presentation was sponsored by the National Peanut Board (NPB), pointed to the scientific consensus that half of a plate of a\u00a0healthy diet consists of fruits, vegetables and nuts, including peanuts. <!--more-->Whole grains, plant proteins, unsaturated fat oils, modest amounts of animal products, some added sugars and starchy vegetables should make up the second half of the plate.<\/p>\n<p>The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) launched the annual WOHF leadership retreat\u00a0in 2004. It is a place for 30-40 hand selected chefs with excellent performance\u00a0to learn more about offering healthy food choices to their guests.
