Researchers are encouraged to apply in interdisciplinary teams of two or three, combining biophysical and social scientists.<\/p>\n<p>The team may focus on any crop, so long as the work involves applied crop breeding research for development projects in sub-Saharan Africa. No previous gender training is necessary, and <a href=\"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/files\/2018\/12\/great-logo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2528\" src=\"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/files\/2018\/12\/great-logo-300x80.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"80\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/files\/2018\/12\/great-logo-300x80.png 300w, https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/files\/2018\/12\/great-logo.png 388w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>limited scholarship funding is available.<\/p>\n<p>GREAT courses are intensive,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cornell.us14.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=9bb459588c30d6df82f45eb9b&amp;id=002d161ad1&amp;e=18b19e2af9\">cohort-based trainings<\/a>\u00a0for small interdisciplinary teams of researchers from leading agricultural research institutions across sub-Saharan Africa. Through applied training in gender-responsive research theory and methods, participants will be able to elevate the impact of your research, while building their professional networks. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The GREAT Gender-Responsive Plant\u00a0Breeding Course will be held in Kampala,\u00a0Uganda in two parts: Week 1:\u00a0July 22-31, 2019; and\u00a0Week 2:\u00a0January 13-17, 2020. Participants will attend both parts of the training, and actively participate in the field-work\u00a0phase of the course.
