{"id":2174,"date":"2017-05-18T11:42:40","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T15:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/pmil\/?p=2174"},"modified":"2017-05-18T11:42:40","modified_gmt":"2017-05-18T15:42:40","slug":"world-food-system-plans-two-week-school-in-west-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/2017\/05\/world-food-system-plans-two-week-school-in-west-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"World Food System plans two-week school in West Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ETH Zurich World Food System Center, together with the Yamsys Project and the Swiss Center for Scientific Research in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire,\u00a0is taking applications for next year\u2019s World Food System Summer School, \u201cFood Systems in Transition,\u201d which will be held 27 January through 10 February 2018 in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire. The two-week intensive academic course will take place in Abidjan, Bouak\u00e9, and several field sites.<\/p>\n<p>The program spans the food system and includes lectures, workshops, case studies, field trips, and farm work together with faculty and experts from leading research institutes, the public, private, and not for profit sectors.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university graduate education program (master\u2019s or PhD) or have recently graduated from one of these programs (up to five years since graduation). Successful applicants will<\/p>\n<p>have a strong and demonstrated interest in food system challenges and solutions, collaboration across disciplines, sectors and cultures, and bring relevant experience. The course will be conducted in English, though<\/p>\n<p>some degree of proficiency in French is recommended. Further, participants can give feedback and ask questions in French.
