{"id":1845,"date":"2016-07-27T09:36:33","date_gmt":"2016-07-27T13:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/pmil\/?p=1845"},"modified":"2016-07-27T11:02:24","modified_gmt":"2016-07-27T15:02:24","slug":"u-of-mauritius-to-host-conference-on-ag-development-in-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/2016\/07\/u-of-mauritius-to-host-conference-on-ag-development-in-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"U of Mauritius to host conference on ag development in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The faculty of Agriculture at the University of Mauritius will host an International Conference on Agribusiness in collaboration with the AFMA (Africa Farm Management Association) from 20-24 November 2016 under the main theme \u201cSustainable Agricultural Development: Innovation Systems Approach for Agricultural Transformation in Africa.\u201d The conference will cover:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sustainable Agriculture and organic farming<\/li>\n<li>Food Safety, Food Security and Nutrition<\/li>\n<li>Agribusiness and Farm Management<\/li>\n<li>ICT in Agriculture and Agricultural Innovation Systems<\/li>\n<li>Biotechnology and Technology Development<\/li>\n<li>Climate change and Climate Smart Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Market Development for increased production and Agricultural trade policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration is at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allevents.co.za\/afma-10\/main.html\">https:\/\/www.allevents.co.za\/afma-10\/main.html<\/a>\u00a0(or\u00a0follow link on University of Mauritius website under\u00a0highlights-AFMA).<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submission of papers has been extended to\u00a0mid August 2016.\u00a0The conference is\u00a0MQA approved\u00a0and the private sector can apply for\u00a0HRDC refund of training cost.<\/p>\n<p>One of the conference goals is to foster a vibrant network of farm managers, scientists, policymakers and practitioners in agribusiness and related fields that will serve as a forum for exchange and dissemination of information on the development of African agribusiness.
