Women and children are most vulnerable and tend to be the most affected, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Africa loses trade due to aflatoxins, which undermines food security both in terms of the amount of food rendered unfit and in contaminated food consumed by millions of Africans, said Dr. Amare Ayalew, program manager of Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa (PACA-AUC).<br \/>\nSpeaking at the workshop, J. David Miller, professor and NSERC Research chair of Carleton University, gave a presentation on a World Health Organization report on mycotoxin control in low- and middle-income countries.
