{"id":1575,"date":"2016-03-17T14:02:55","date_gmt":"2016-03-17T18:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/pmil\/?p=1575"},"modified":"2016-03-17T14:02:55","modified_gmt":"2016-03-17T18:02:55","slug":"future-leaders-fellowship-can-help-pay-for-international-ag-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/ftfpeanutlab\/2016\/03\/future-leaders-fellowship-can-help-pay-for-international-ag-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Future leaders fellowship can help pay for international ag conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development is taking fellowship applications for students attending both the AIARD Annual Conference\u00a0(June 5-7)\u00a0and the Future Leaders Forum in Washington, D.C.\u00a0Fellowships are made possible by USAID support and are awarded on a competitive basis to students who have a\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0interest in international agriculture and rural development.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The fellowships are intended to enhance the students&#8217; understanding and appreciation of issues and opportunities in international agriculture and rural development.\u00a0The objectives of the program are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Facilitate student attendance and participation in the\u00a0AIARD\u00a0Annual Conference\u00a0in Washington, D.C.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Broaden student vision and help build a broad array of social\/cultural, economic and scientific skills required to become an effective 21st century professional in international agriculture and rural development.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Facilitate career visioning and networking by providing\u00a0a day and a half of visits to DC-based agencies, companies and organizations engaged in international agriculture and rural development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications for scholarships are evaluated by an AIARD committee.
