Christy Fricks recently joined as the Communications Specialist for the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Peanut and Mycotoxin. She is based in the Management Entity at The University of Georgia-Athens. Christy will be responsible for developing and implementing PMIL’s communications strategies to communicate effectively with all partners engaged with and/or interested in the program.

Previously, Christy worked as a journalist and photographer for national publications, such as USAToday and various regional outlets, including UGA Research Magazine. As a student she was a health communications research assistant for Grady College, as well as editor of the College of Public Health’s Magazine. She is the inaugural graduate of Grady College’s Health and Medical Journalism Master of Arts concentration and a member of the National Association of Science Writers.
