That\u2019s rose rosette disease, and once a rose has it, the plant can\u2019t be treated or cured (<a href=\"https:\/\/site.caes.uga.edu\/entomologyresearch\/2022\/11\/mite-vector-of-rose-rosette-virus\/\">UGA Extension Circular 1176<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, November 17, the researchers working on each piece of the problem will walk through it in one morning: the tiny eriophyid mite that spreads the virus, the virus itself, and the breeding work aimed at roses that hold up to it. Speakers come from UGA Entomology, UGA Plant Pathology, and Texas A&amp;M, where Dr. Oscar Riera-Lizarazu holds the Basye Endowed Chair in Rose Genetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s all on Zoom. Register once, and Zoom emails you your own join link plus reminders, so you can catch the talk you need or stay for the whole morning.
