This insecticide is developed by Syngenta and powered by PLINAZOLIN\u00ae technology. Please refer to the insecticide label for all application directions, as it is the LAW. This article is solely for information purposes so that the GA turfgrass industry is aware of this new insecticide\/miticide registration and does not imply any endorsements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please find the label and SDS: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencastonline.com\/products\/atexzo-insecticide\/turf\">https:\/\/www.greencastonline.com\/products\/atexzo-insecticide\/turf<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atexzo is federally registered for professional turfgrass systems, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Golf courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sod farms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Athletic\/recreational fields<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commercial and institutional turf<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, it is <strong>not registered<\/strong> for residential use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mode of action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Atexzo uses a novel mode of action that targets the insect nervous system via contact and ingestion, offering activity against adults, larvae, and nymphs. As the first member of IRAC Group 30, it displays no known cross-resistance with other chemical classes, making it an effective rotation partner in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pest spectrum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Atexzo provides broad-spectrum control of several economically important insects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mole crickets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bermudagrass mite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Billbugs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turf caterpillars: Fall armyworms, cutworms, sod webworms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>White grubs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the only insecticide registered for bermiudagrass mite management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recommended Rates by Pest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Atexzo is formulated as a suspension concentrate (1.67 lb a.i.\/gal) with a maximum annual limit of 24.6 fl oz\/acre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table caes-extended-core-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>Pest<\/td><td>Rate (fl oz\/A)<\/td><td>Notes<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Mole Crickets<\/td><td>5.1\u20138.2<\/td><td>Higher rates for large nymphs\/adults.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Bermudagrass Mites<\/td><td>1.7\u20136.8<\/td><td>Strong residual performance.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Billbugs<\/td><td>3.4\u20138.2<\/td><td>Broad-spectrum surface &amp; subsurface pests.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Fall amryworm, webworms, cutworms<\/td><td>3.4\u20138.2<\/td><td>&nbsp;Controls adults &amp; larvae; extended application window.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Annual Bluegrass Weevil<\/td><td>6.8\u20138.2<\/td><td>Controls adults &amp; larvae; extended application window.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Watering-In Recommendations: Applications may be watered in within 24 hours, improving placement for soil-active pests like mole crickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Atexzo Master Label, handlers must wear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Long-sleeved shirt and long pants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chemical-resistant gloves (Nitrile, Neoprene, or Viton \u226514 mil)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shoes plus socks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restricted-Entry Interval (REI): 12 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though Atexzo carries <strong>no signal word<\/strong>, all standard pesticide precautions apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Environmental &amp; Regulatory Mitigation Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>EPA requires applicators to implement runoff and erosion mitigation measures unless exempted due to site design (e.g., perimeter berms). Users must achieve at least 2 mitigation points, which may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Watering-In: Incorporate the product with irrigation before rainfall that could produce runoff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced Application Rates: Apply 10\u201360% below the maximum allowable annual rate when feasible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vegetative Filter Strips: Maintain buffer vegetation around treated areas to reduce runoff transport.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>These measures help protect aquatic systems while maintaining compliance and ensuring long-term product viability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Atexzo\u00ae provides a new chemical class, long residual control, and broad-spectrum activity, making it a strong addition to professional turf IPM programs.
