Raised on her grandparents\u2019 row crop farm in China, she pairs firsthand agricultural experience with rigorous economic expertise to address structural challenges in modern production agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Liu earned her B.A. in Economics with a Business Administration minor from the University of Macau and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, with dual specializations in Agricultural Finance and Agribusiness. Her research focuses on market volatility, global trade, farm financial stress, technological adoption, and the long-term sustainability of cotton and peanut production systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her economic analyses have directly informed federal and state agricultural policy. Most notably, her policy report on row crop financial conditions helped inform the $12 billion Farm Bridge Assistance Program in Washington, D.C., and her work contributed to adjustments in Wildfires and Hurricanes Indemnity Program (WHIP) Harvest Factor for cotton producers in the Southeastern United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognized nationally for policy-relevant research and industry engagement, Dr. Liu delivers strategic economic outlooks to financial institutions, commodity boards, industry leaders, and policymakers.
