Cesar Escalante – People | Agricultural & Applied Economics (uga.edu)
Dr. Escalante’s major areas of expertise are agricultural finance, labor economics, and agribusiness management. He has been the sole principal investigator of three completed projects funded by Southern SARE (LS07-194, LS11-240, and LS14-262),
two of which dealt with farm labor issues (which this current proposal will focus on). He is a co-investigator of a current SARE-funded project (LS21-361) that is now on its second year of implementation.
In this proposed project, Dr. Escalante will be primarily responsible for direction of all project plans through his active facilitation of project activities in all phases including planning, implementation, analysis, and evaluation. While certain project tasks are delegated to team member(s) according to expertise, familiarity, and industry experiences, Dr. Escalante will nonetheless oversee all phases of each action plan to ensure effective coordination of activities (especially when distinguished by regional considerations). He will also ensure that underlying goals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and SARE’s sustainability principles are realized. He will also ensure that all promised project deliverables to interest groups and SARE all promptly submitted and complied with.
