There are currently no known external characters to reliably distinguish members of the <em>dimidiatus<\/em> complex from one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Distribution:&nbsp;<\/strong><em>Carpophilus pilosellus<\/em> can be found feeding on ripe, over ripened, and decaying fruits and vegetables as well as stored products. Adults partially illustrated by Connell (1977).
