During a picturesque summer evening on May 20 in Washington, D.C., the spirit of the University of Georgia\u2019s alumni network was alive and well on Capitol Hill. UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences\u2019 alumni, friends, and supporters gathered on the balcony of the House Committee on Agriculture for Ag Dawgs After Hours: D.C.<\/strong>, a special event that brought together generations of Bulldogs in the heart of our nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the iconic dome of the U.S. Capitol as a backdrop, attendees mingled and reconnected, sharing stories of their time at UGA and their journeys since. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, newfound connections, and a shared passion for agriculture and public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of the night was the warm welcome extended to the newest residents of the city\u2014 the 2025 <\/strong>Congressional Agricultural Fellows<\/strong>.<\/a> These bright students are spending their summer interning in congressional offices and agricultural organizations, gaining firsthand experience in policy and advocacy. Alumni were eager to meet the fellows, offer advice, and share insights from their own careers in D.C. and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event underscored the strength and reach of the Ag Dawg network. Whether working on the Hill, in federal agencies, or in the private sector, UGA alumni continue to make a difference in shaping agricultural policy and supporting rural communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the evening came to a close one thing became clear – the bond between Ag Dawgs is strong \u2014 and can make any new city feel a little more like home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
