The University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) hosted a series events this fall to engage alumni, fostering connections and celebrating the achievements of its community. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights:

Ag Dawg Kickoff (Athens + Tifton)

In August the CAES community gathered in Athens and Tifton for the Ag Dawg Kickoff at each respective campus. This event marked the beginning of the new academic year, welcoming students, faculty and staff. CAES alumni chose to selflessly serve and greet students back to campus for another amazing year. Both events continue to be a highlight of the year with the Athens Kickoff at the UGA Livestock Arena drawing over 600 attendees and the Tifton Kickoff having a record-breaking turnout filled with quality conversation and connection at the Tifton Conference Center.

Intros and Appetizers

This networking event, held in early October, provided a relaxed atmosphere for students and alumni to connect. The goal was to facilitate meaningful conversations about internships and job opportunities. Attendees enjoyed a variety of appetizers while engaging in discussions that could shape their future careers. The event was a resounding success, with many students expressing gratitude for the chance to meet and learn from experienced professionals.

UGA 40 Under 40 Panel

On Friday, September 6th the University of Georgia celebrated their 40 Under 40 Alumni honorees with a luncheon on campus. Afterwards, UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and Odum School of Ecology co-hosted an honoree panel with Katharine Bleau (BS ’13), Chris Chammoun (BSA ’08), and Tiffany Woods (BSES ’08, MS ’11) where they shared with students their career journeys, surprises, and lessons learned. We are so proud of these alumni and so grateful they took the time to impart wisdom to the next generation of Bulldawgs. Ag Dawgs After Hours in Ellijay, GA

On October 25th, alumni gathered at Cartecay Vineyards in Ellijay for an evening of camaraderie and networking. The picturesque vineyard setting provided the perfect backdrop for reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. The event featured local wines and light refreshments, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Dean Nick Place kicked off the evening sharing the latest news from CAES which was followed by an intimate wagon ride through the vineyards hosted by the owner and Alumni of Excellence Award winner, Larry Lykin (BSA ’96, MS ’98).
