Mike completed his PhD with Sean Schoville at the University of Wisconsin, and at UGA he will examine the evolutionary ecology of formerly-benign herbivores that suddenly emerge as crop pests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Congratulations to <strong>Amanda Meier<\/strong> and <strong>Olivia Smith<\/strong>, who received prestigious USDA-NIFA Fellowships this spring!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Matt Jones\u2019s<\/strong> recent paper on the <a href=\"https:\/\/besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1111\/1365-2664.13365\">ecology of food safety<\/a>, published in the Journal of Applied Ecology, was named Editor\u2019s Choice article and received widespread popular-press attention including an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/science-and-technology\/2019\/05\/16\/organic-farmers-fields-are-faeces-free\">article in The Economist magazine<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clemson did a nice&nbsp;news release&nbsp;describing&nbsp;<strong>Carmen Blubaugh<\/strong>\u2018s new&nbsp;<em>Ecology<\/em>&nbsp;paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD student&nbsp;<strong>Olivia Smith <\/strong>organized an interesting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vPxuQWmOZ1Q\">webinar discussing online farm-biodiversity tools<\/a>, along with an international group of collaborators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welcome to&nbsp;<strong>Amanda Meier<\/strong>, who accepted a postdoc position in the lab.
